Around Town: Peek-a-Bootique

Well, here’s the first post in another new blog feature, “Around Town.”  About once a month I plan to visit a local business to have a look around.  I just recently made a stop at the Peek-a-Bootique located in downtown Independence, KS.

This darling little store carries  a wonderful variety of children’s clothing, gifts and accessories.  Clothing sizes range from Preemie to 6x in girls and Preemie to size 7 in boys.  “Some of the clothing lines we carry are Vitamins, Carters, Bunnies by the Bay, Good Lad, Bonnie Jean, Kidorable Rain Gear,  Gund Toys and Diaper Bags,” says Melissa Hadley, boutique owner.   For the tiny fan, new KU and K-State items will be arriving soon – gowns, bibs,  receiving blankets, booties, bucket hats and baby cheerleading outfits.

“We also carry a complete line of Merle Norman Cosmetics and give Free Mini-Makeovers.  There is a Free Gift with Purchase going right now with the purchase of 2 items (excluding accessories) of Merle Norman products,” says Melissa.  In the store, you can also find the popular Woodwick Candles, as well as,  Hunter Douglas window fashions for custom made blinds and shutters and RM Coco for custom made drapes.  The estimates and installation are FREE!
